Gorenjska is taken up by the Alps. This area is divided into tree mountain ranges. In the nort-weat there are dolomitic limesone Julian Alps including the highest peak in Slovenia - Triglav (2864m) Along the border with Austria lie the Karavanken Alps, built from softer material. South of the Karavanken lies a third smaller range of mountains - the Kamnik-Savinia Alps.
Through Gorenjska river Sava flows and it has two springs. The first one is near Zelenci in the Zgornjesavska valley, the other one is in Bohinj corner, where also waterfall Savica springs. Both rivers Sava connect near the city Radovljica.
We went to two trips and researched both parts of Gorenjska.
